New Tracks-Details and Reviews!!

On March 1st 2010 Anne Marie self-released 2 “new”albums and a single, all available for download .

The most notable track amongst them is the first ever release of “To My Father” (The English version of her beautiful Spanish song “A Mi Padre”), which is nominally listed as a bonus track on a “New” album called “Meetings”.

The tracks on both albums and the single can be purchased individually. So, some of you may find it logical to file this brand new track alongside the others which make up the single. (Federico and A Mi Padre).

The 2 “new” albums can be legitimately termed so, as they have not been released in MP3 format before. Anne Marie devotees will recognise here her 1983 “Scandinavian” album “Rencontres” and its “International” version “Meetings”. Although the track orders may have been altered slightly.

So! How do they sound after going thru the digitalisation process??

The answer must be “Very Good”!

All the songs benefit from being digitally cleaned up. In particular, her brave tackling of Lennon’s “Mother” is a bit of a revelation here. We also love “Banco a Vie” which sounds punchier than its’ English version (No Tears For My Daughter). Another stand out track is either version of “The Clown is Dead Tonite” which always leaves the listener truly haunted.

The long overdue downloadable version of the single “Federico /A Mi Padre” must be greatly welcomed by all fans of Ms David. It is a truly remarkable effort by all concerned and  surely can propel her back into the charts across the world if marketed to any extent. Please tell all your friends!!!

Stand by for another New Anne Marie recording.

In what (at this stage) looks like a “one off” deal, La David has contributed vocals to a track on a “Diva” album to be released  by UK company Energise Records.

This album features a set of new songs written by London based songsmith Tony Power and boasts a series of top quality singers guesting on vocals. Hi energy legend Evelyn Thomas can also be found on the “team sheet” , along with Sonia and Jacquii Cann.

Energise distribute their output on line as well as on CD, so all tracks will be available for download from major sites. We have no details as to whether Anne Marie’s song , the title of which is “You came to me,” will be marketed in its’ own rite as a digital 12” single, but the possibility is certainly there.

Those of you who read Anne Marie’s official sites may have seen mention of other planned releases originating from France in the not too distant future, and I believe the company involved will also be distributing these for download in addition to more traditional formats.

Stay primed for further developments! (01/03/10)

UPDATE!!!    The latest news on the Energise Records/ Tony Power “Diva” project is that delays to production of the tracks has led to the release being delayed into 2010. Check out the Backchat page on the Energise website for more info. (18/03/10)
